I’m Maxwell Young. This site records the films, records, games, podcasts, books and audiobooks that held my attention during 2026—finished and unfinished alike.
Where the entries come from
The ledger is generated from my private Canon library, which reconciles dated activity from the media services I use. The public artifact contains only the display fields needed here; private library identifiers and credentials are removed during publication.
Each medium has its own evidence: watch and diary activity for film, listening history for music and podcasts, play time for games, and progress or completion records for reading and audiobooks. Canon normalises those different signals into one dated ledger without pretending they are identical.
How time is counted
Hours appear only where the source can say they happened this year. Steam and Apple Podcasts report lifetime totals, so a game’s row shows hours played this year once Canon has recorded a daily snapshot to measure from (and the last two weeks meanwhile), never the all-time figure; podcast minutes are attributed to the year each episode was last played. Films and audiobooks use runtime and progress. Music is counted, not timed.
How fresh it is
The page is rebuilt after successful source syncs and on a scheduled publishing pass. “Current through” on the ledger reflects the newest published activity, not the time someone opened the page.
Publication is gated. The candidate must keep a valid year, avoid future-dated events and duplicate public identities, preserve required display metadata, and pass a monotonic-count check before it can replace the live artifact. A failed or incomplete source stays unavailable; it is never silently converted to zero activity.
What the graph means
The graph places works only when there is enough catalog or descriptive evidence. Unplaced works remain visible and are reported as unavailable evidence rather than being assigned a made-up relationship.
Semantic links come from descriptions, themes and discriminative genres. A separate catalogue fallback can place genre-rich music without calling that placement semantic. The calibration queue is deliberately unfinished until a human judges its proposed pairs, so the site reports coverage separately from precision.
What this is not
This is not a ranking, recommendation feed or claim that every logged work was finished. It is a chronological record of what received meaningful attention. Status, progress and source labels stay visible so a partial listen is not misrepresented as a completion.
